William Payne

I'm a metal artist and sculptor based in rural Frostproof, Florida. Working with steel and stainless steel, I create works that question the ordinary. I take inspiration from all directions, including nature, music, and poetry.

I'm drawn to large-scale sculpture that challenges both the material and myself. I find purpose in the physical work: cutting, grinding, bending, and welding until flat, lifeless metal begins to transform from work into a work of art.
